Paul Snell: Spectra_December 6 - December 22

Paul Snell is a Tasmanian-based artist who has extended his career and the scope of his colour works to an international level. Highly acclaimed in Australia, Snell has won numerous awards and his works have been acquired by corporate and private collectors in Germany, the United States, Hong Kong and Australia.

Travel to New York over several years has been significant for Snell in the development and articulation of his dynamic and powerful colour dialogue. From the current New York series Incidental Contact, the works in this exhibition use appropriated images to create photographic objects. They are an investigation of perception and artifice, a sensation of the eye. The works aim to represent a period of ambiguity and transitional states.

Snell returns to New York in early February 2020 to exhibit at the Australian Embassy, New York.

Exhibition opens: 5:30–7:30pm Friday 6 December 2019
